Let’s introduce the Indian poetess Nahl. She wrote down her feelings, after a loved one moved to another country.
About the poem
Saying goodbye to a loved one is never easy. For sure, there is a difference when someone dies or someone moves away. The feeling of how things could have been, they can be considered the same. Not that we are generalizing these feelings. One should be careful when it comes to matters of the heart.
Here we are, reading the poem that Nahl wrote down. She called her poem an open letter, in this she writes how much she misses him. Everything arround her keeps reminding her of him. There is only one wish: that he comes back.
An open letter to the one who flew away
My darling, you have gone
And yet here I am
surrounded by walls drenched in your memories
How you touched me
How you held me
Your ghosts are everywhere I look
And sometimes I swear it is you I see walking down the hallways
My darling the air here is dripping with your scent
So painfully sweet
I don’t know if it’s killing me or keeping me alive
And my heart is a child
Who does not see and does not hear
She just wants you
And only you
Just please come back to me
