Especially for our ending Poetry Challenge about caffeine (ends on October 31st), Antima Baidya wrote the poem Caffeine in a mug.

Antima wrote a poem about what coffee means to her. She managed to create a link to her words she wants to use, but cannot speak and coffee. A well-composed poem, about how she wants something but is not able to say or find the right words. The longing, it must be immense.

Antima publishes her work on Instagram and Facebook. A poetess worth the while to follow on social media.

Caffeine in a mug

When the vocabulary of my uncivilized mind,
Is lacking inappropriate words,
To pen down on the unused tissue in front of you.
My civilized heart would murmur its wish inside

I wish,
I was a mug full of coffee of yours.
You would have smelled me,
You would have moved your fingers around my body,
To sense the heat of me in your dreary fingers,
You would have added two pouches of sugar to me with love,
You would have gently taken a sip of me,
But I would have burned your tongue,

No, not intentionally!
I was fevered of this heated up world,
But you would have waited until I cool down,
And again would have taken a sip,
And I would gently pass through your lips,
Leaving a patch of my sugar coated love,
You would have drunk whole me, And I would have just got into you,
And treat your body with heat in these wintry eves,

I wish,
I was a mug full of coffee of yours.
