Sometimes poetry is stepping out of your comfort zone. At least, that is what it was for the poem Coffee that Shaz send to us. This is another submission for the October Poetry Challenge about coffee.
About the poetess
She wrote her first poem, when she was only thirteen years old. Years later, she is a dochter and lives in the Middle East. She considers writing a hobby and a passion. She writes mostly about loss, healing, self-care and women.
About one year ago, she decided that Instagram was the right social media platform to publish her poems. During this year, she learned that many others liked her words. For this she is very grateful. In return, she is inspired by others. She finds, that she can learn a lot from the work of others.
There are times, this poetess feels that she cannot say certain things. Writing down her thoughts helps her. Like many others, she finds it comforting that she can express herself through poetry. Isn’t that what it’s all about? Finding the right words, isn’t easy sometimes. To use the power of pen and paper, that is a good reason to keep on writing.
With her words, she hopes to inspire other readers. In this case, the poem is different from what she normally writes. She wrote about drinking coffee, but it can considered as something else… Indeed, something different than the poems she normally publishes!
Inhale me deep
Relish my scent
Take me high
Sip me slow
Taste me whole
Drink me full
Just don’t burn
your sweet lips
