Translating words from Dutch to English and making them rhyme, well that is sometimes difficult. Even though the rhyme pattern didn’t go as planned, I wanted to share the translated version of Regenboog (Rainbow) by Dasuë, that I found on this website.

By Dasuë

Some day I will see yo’
At the end of the rainbow,
where all colors fade.
Somewhere at the horizon
where heaven and earth embrace,
where you wil never ask me,
where did the time go?
All of the days, I know what you look like,
by that photo of you inside my soul,
to where my eyes drift constantly
towards the lips that can burn like candles.
I point you that place at the rainbows end.
Where passion extinguishes,
by melting corpses.
There will come a moment
Let’s wait for that rainbow

The Dutch original:

By Dasuë

waarop mijn ogen steeds afdwalen
