About the poet
This poet wants to uphold anonymity. We respect that. That is why we cannot present limited information about the poetess. Quoenna writes to cope with the stress in her life. Sometimes, the words cannot flow, because of her writer’s block. In a way, she wants to escape the reality when writing poetry.

Self-love is considered as a moral flaw by some people. It’s supposed to be related to flaws such as selfishness and vanity. Is this really true? Is there anything bad when it comes to self-love? Yes¸ too much is always bad. Too much self-love can be considered as narcissistic. When you are able to love yourself in a good way, it isn’t bad. You will be able to realize what and who you are.
In this poem, we read about the struggle to break free from this cage. There is need to fly and break free from that what holds her back. This is her own spirit.
When we asked this poetess to provide more information about this (untitled) poem, she replied with the following:
“It’s always a struggle to love yourself for who you are. Stereotypes of who we should be and how we should act are all over the media. None of us is perfect. Just imperfectly unique.”
Free from cage
Birds of song be
Wings ready to fly
Ready to flee
Lo and behold
The maiden in black
Free from herself
Never looked back
